Newcastle, NSW

We went to see Nobbys Beach in the early morning. Its so weird to come from hot, humid Boston to cold, windy Australia. Then we went sandboarding in Stockton! WOOT WOOT!

Then went to a petting zoo and had a bbq. Still haven’t tried kangaroo meat but the bbq’s in Australia only really cook sausages. Ehh. But I pet a kangaroo!

I’m exhausted, and finally checked in my room. Loving it! I have my own room, living with four other people. We share a common room, kitchen, and bathroom. In our block, Block 11, there are four units with five shares. Its pretty nice. My room has a huge closet and desk, with more than enough storage space. I don't know how I feel about the brick walls yet... My R.A. is lovely and I’ve met one of my housemates and his two buddies. They’re from Norway. This made me laugh a little because I forgot this country existed. :X Ignorance at it’s finest. Haha.

Newcastle is..wow. I was not expecting Newcastle to be so citylike. I thought it would be more country  like Amherst. Newcastle is one of the bigger cities in Australia, too. Strange how I've only heard of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. I have never even heard of Newcastle until this program, and I picked it because it was the cheapest. I'm so pumped though!

I'M READY FOR YOU, AUSTRALIA!
