Where are all the sheep?!

Thursday evening, Nick, Naveen, Rachel, Caitlin, Marissa and I traveled to Cardiff, Wales! We left Oxford around 19:30, with a 20 minute delay at Didcot, and arrived there around 22:00. We managed to find Bunkhouse Hostel despite forgetting to write down the address. It was right on the high street (main street), near everything, which was lucky for us. We signed in and put our stuff down. The hostel was pretty nice. The common room not only had tables and chairs, but beds, too. There was also a bar inside the hostel.

Yay! First time in a hostel! We had a room of 16 beds.

After trying to find our room, because there were just too many floors and stairs, we got ready to go out for Caitlin's birthday!

We walked around town for a bit in our birthday hats trying to figure out where to go. Cardiff, despite being the capital of Wales, is pretty empty. Probably because it was a Thursday. We finally found a club called the Live Lounge. The atmosphere was pretty nice. There was a live band playing and the drinks were good. We met some locals, and after talking for a bit at the Live Lounge, we went with them to another bar that had owls everywhere. I wish I took down the name of it, since I'm trying to record a list of all the bars and clubs I've been to. The Welsh are really friendly. It was good they could carry out conversations, unlike the... Nevermind. Hahaha. I swear, they all look like someone famous. I met someone that looked like Maggie Gyllenhal, Ryan Gosling, Andy Samberg, and Matthew Macfadyan as Darcy. I still have to figure out what the others look like. Naveen called me out on one of my penis jokes, so now they think I'm a pervert... Hahaha. I learned, sort of, not really, to speak with an English accent, and it was horrible. It sounds so nasty when the English pretend to speak with American accents, I wonder how awful they think we sound when we try to speak with English accents. We stayed there until 3:00 and walked back to the Hostel. It was a pretty good night, and what topped it off, was that we had the whole room to ourselves!

Saturday we woke up around 8:00. The showers were really tight and you had to keep pressing the button for the water to flow. Guess that's how they save money. The good thing was that it was clean. We had breakfast at the hostel, not much, but hey, it was free. Our first stop was Cardiff Castle. We were so excited because that's what Wales is known for: castles and sheep, both of which, we didn't even see all weekend. The castle was too expensive to get into, and it didn't even seem worth it because Cardiff Castle is not even a medieval castle. Cardiff Castle was built in the 1900s. -.- The next closest castle, Castell Coch, (How do you think that's pronounced? Haha) was 45 minutes away, by bus, it didn't even seem worth it. We ended up walking around the castle and seeing City Hall and everything around there. Cardiff is really nice.

We went to Cardiff Bay.

Unfortunately, there was a festival last weekend and next weekend, but nothing during the weekend we were there. -.- It was fine though, we saw Millenium Stadium.

We walked some more and took more pictures, then went back to the hostel. For dinner, we went to O'neills. It wasn't amazing, but that wasn't a problem. From then on, we went to a couple of pubs and met up two of the locals from the night before. We walked around a lot trying to figure out the best place to go, since it was our last night and all. Gotta leave with a bang!

I wish...

Hahaha. But yeah, we finally found a club! Fun times at Platinum!

We didn't know the derpy looking guy in the bottom left, he just photobombed us. Roar.

After the club, we wanted to sneak in Cardiff Castle, because according to one of the locals, was really easy to sneak in. I was really hyped up for it! But as we all know, when you are too hyped up for something, it must be illegal and no one else really wanted to be a part of that with me. :( It was a good night, though. The only bad thing about this whole weekend, were the people that came in our room the second night. Loudest bitches ever, complaining about everything and came in at 5:00 in the morning!

Sunday morning, we woke up at 8:00 again, had breakfast, and signed out at 10:00.

Then we went souvenir shopping and just walked around and talked. Chill day. We got on the train at 13:20 and went back to Oxford, which apparently was really nice and warm this whole weekend, while Cardiff was cold and rainy. We got back around 15:30 and I decided to do nothing for the rest of the day.

Awesome trip! Yay Wales!

CAN'T WAIT FOR DUBLIN THIS WEEKEND! WOOT WOOT!

Yeah, be jealous.
